Toddler / Preschool Teacher

Full Time/Part Time

We welcome candidates who are not afraid to walk in their authority and lend support to their immediate supervisor (Director) to meet the needs of the overall organization, scholars, staff, and parents. This candidate must be flexible,  able to quickly navigate and work alongside the Director to help LEAD Preparatory’s teacher-leaders and staff create programs and learning plans that meet state and federal guidelines, as well as parents’ expectations. The ideal candidate must have prior classroom experience and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate confidence giving tours to prospective parents, writing newsletters, developing, and reviewing lesson plans, and running staff meetings. Excellent customer service skills are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise teacher-leaders and childcare workers
  • Help screen and train new staff members and ensure all background checks and fingerprints have been processed
  • Provide professional development opportunities for staff & facilitate trainings
  • Conduct classroom observations to assess teacher-leader performance
  • Assist with implementing new policies and communicating them to staff and parents
  • Support development of educational programs and standards
  • Maintain instructional excellence
  • Assist staff in communicating with parents and children
  • Meet with parents and staff to discuss scholar performance
  • Adhere to budgets and allocated program funds
  • Ensure facilities and materials are maintained and cleaned according to state & center guidelines
  • Attract Prospective Clients
  • Demonstrate flexibility

Qualification, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements

  • Proven experience in leadership
  • Exceptional understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms and learning centers
  • Excellent communication, and coaching skills
  • Ability to partner with parents and community members to benefit all scholars
  • Cool-tempered, friendly, and dependable
  • Balance between an inventive mind and a practical acumen
  • Certification in child CPR
  • BS/BA in education or relevant field

Director Certification or Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred! Experience of at least 2 years in a Quality Rated setting is a plus. First Aid/CPR required.
